The Illaroo Campground is located on Illaroo Road, near the town of Minnie Water, in New South Wales. Situated just under 15 km from Wooli on the NSW North Coast, it is also only 52 km east of the Northern Rivers city of Grafton. To get to the campground you will need to turn onto Eight Mile Lane from the Pacific Highway.

Description A beautiful coastal hike through Yuraygir National Park in NSW - just over an hours drive north of Coffs Harbour. This looped route begins and ends from Illaroo North Campsite, where parking and camping is available to the public. From here you'll follow the Sandon Back Trail all the way north till you reach the Sandon River.

Where is Illaroo Campground? You'll find this spectacular part of the world literally a couple of kilometres from Minnie Waters, and roughly 30 minutes from Grafton. It's right on the coastline, with many camp sites having decent views of the ocean, and all camp sites close enough to hear the rumbling of the waves as they crash onshore.

This coastal loop is good to combine with the Wilsons Headland Walk for a day out, together with a swim and a visit to the delightful Minnie Water General Store for coffee or an ice cream.. Like most coastal walks, best at low tide. Starting at the store, head north toward Illaroo campground through some melaleuca wetlands, and admire the large angophora trees.
